Our client is an International Commodity trading, marketing, and Chartering company, based in the heart of Rotterdam, with offices and operations in over 30 countries worldwide.

In this role you will, within a team of 8 persons of which 4 will be direct colleagues, be responsible for the daily handling of shipping documents for the Operations/Trade Execution department. You will be the central point for collecting, combining, issuing, and sending all relevant documents that need to be shipped for the trade operations team.

DUTIES:

  • As a continuous service for the operations department, you will be preparing documents as per contract or as per operation department’s instruction or as per letter of credit. This can be well ordered, but sometimes also be a big pile of information which require you to be able to recognise/find the important details for your task.
  • After preparing comes the final composition of the set of documents and send the sets out to clients and banks. Sets of documents include Bills of Lading, quality reports, origin certificates, phytosanitary certificates and many more.
  • Documents to issue and to include in the sets of documents are presentation letters, invoices, and various statements about goods/shipments.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong administrative skills;
  • MBO4 level of thinking, preferably in logistics, MER or office support;
  • Continuous attention to detail
  • Continuous attention to priorities. They can change several times during a day. Value of shipments, arrival dates of shipment at load or destination port/political situations in countries are some examples for the changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of document handling and or commodity trading is a plus;
  • Thorough knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
